One Week Left for Public Comments

The hunting plan and environmental assessment for Swan Lake National Wildlife Refuge is open for public comment for one more week.  Click to hear KMZU’s Kristie Cross speak with Refuge Manager Steve Whitson:

They completed their 15-year Comprehensive Conservation plan about two years ago.  “It called for us to further develop our hunting program on the refuge and open some more opportunities for hunting up on the refuge,” said Whitson, “So we’ve developed this hunting plan.  The first step was developing an environmental assessment where we looked at about five different options of directions we could go with the hunting program, and analyzed those and did a comparative analysis.”
