One Year Anniversary of Lathrop Disappearance

Carol Thompson went missing from her Lathrop home June 15, 2012

Saturday marks one year since Carol Thompson, of Lathrop, went missing.  She was 50 years old at the time of her disappearance.  Her body was found April 7th, 2013 at a creek between Polo and Lathrop.  Dental records later confirmed her identity.

Carol’s cause of death has not been released at this time. Those forensics results are expected in about one month.

Courtney said she now feels better knowing Carol is at rest.  “There’s no such thing as closure.  I think I found that out.  It’s about resolution,” said Courtney, “Now I know where Carol’s at and I can go to sleep at night knowing that I don’t need to search for her anymore.  And that she’s where God needed her to be.”

She has become very active in missing persons organizations since Carol went missing.  Courtney is spending Saturday at a an event for the missing in Jefferson City.
