Overall Missouri unemployment headed slowly downward

Unemployment in Missouri has been edging down since January in the past year.

The current smoothed seasonally adjusted rate in Missouri is 3.6%. According to Missouri department of economic development, total non-farm payroll employment was up by 900 jobs over the past two months. That’s part of an overall net growth of 34,300 jobs over the past year. Areas that showed growth include service providing industries, health care, trade, transportation, and utilities. Job losses were recorded in construction, and manufacturing over the course of the last year.
