Patrol SWAT unit assists with Saline County manhunt

SALINE COUNTY, Mo. –¬†Law enforcement swarmed into Saline County when a Marshall man fled from a car stop on eastbound Interstate 70 Saturday afternoon.

The Sheriff’s Department released a statement warning residents in the southern part of Saline County, between EE Highway and Highway YY. The suspect, wanted on felony warrants out of Pettis and Crawford County, ran southbound from that location around 12:56 in the afternoon.

The suspect, identified as Matthew Stephen Harris, 26, was later taken into custody without incident.

Harris now faces allegations of first degree drug trafficking, resisting arrest by fleeing, four counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, two counts of receiving stolen property and four counts of unlawful use of a weapon. He is currently held without bond at the Saline County Jail.

The Missouri Highway Patrol SWAT team assisted Saline County and Marshall officers in the manhunt.
