Patrol to test public alert systems in South Missouri

COLE COUNTY, Mo. –┬áThe Missouri State Highway Patrol will test the Emergency Alert System and Wireless Emergency Alert Systems between 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 17.

The primary test area will be Cole County, but the test may be heard in parts of Boone, Callaway, Miller, Moniteau, Morgan and Osage Counties. This is the first live regional test of the Wireless or W.E.A. system by the state of Missouri.

The systems will be used to broadcast Amber Alerts and other emergency notifications.
