UPDATE: Columbia Police find driver and vehicle involved in fatality accident

UPDATE: 11/14/2017, 6:00 a.m. — Columbia Police say they found the driver of a vehicle involved in a pedestrian fatality Saturday.

Police had asked for assistance in locating the vehicle of interest which was captured in a photo released to the public. Rocky Salvador, 34, was pronounced dead at the scene of 63 highway near Route B.

Police have not named the individual, as an investigation continues into the cause of the incident. It is not clear if charges will be filed against the driver.


UPDATE: 8 p.m. – The Columbia Police are asking for public assistance with identification of a vehicle that struck a pedestrian Saturday night.

According to police, the accident occurred after 9:30 p.m. Saturday, as a pedestrian, Rocky Salvador, 34, was struck in the vicinity of 63 Highway near Route B. Photos obtained by Columbia Police show what appears to be a white camper being towed by the vehicle involved. The vehicle is believed to have fled the scene after the incident. COLUMBIA, Mo. — The Columbia Police Department is seeking information about a hit and run incident that left a pedestrian dead.

According to a news release, a pedestrian was north bound on U.S. 63 near Route B at 9:38 last night. The pedestrian was reportedly walking in the roadway when a vehicle approached from the rear and struck the pedestrian. The vehicle left the scene of the accident. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of the pedestrian is not being released at this time. The vehicle make and model is unknown, but it was reported to have been pulling a white 24-foot camper.
