Pedestrian hit by truck in Platte County

PLATTE COUNTY, Mo. — A man was injured when he was struck by a vehicle on Barry Road at St. Clair in Platte County Tuesday morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at around 8:35 a.m. Tuesday as a truck operated by Catarino C. Vega, 55, of Kansas City, Kansas, was turning left and struck a pedestrian in the roadway.

The man hit was Kansas City, Missouri resident Ljuban Ostojic, 67. The collision allegedly happened after Ostojic walked in front of Vega’s vehicle in the intersection.

Ostojic sustained serious injuries and was transported to North Kansas City Hospital to receive treatment.
