KMZU listeners are reporting a traffic jam starting at Adams Dairy Parkway in Blue Springs in the westbound lanes of I-70 extending back east to Grain Valley and possibly Oak Grove.

One listener reports it was a pedestrian that was struck and killed about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday. That was confirmed by Missouri State Highway Patrol authorities.

As of 9 a.m. westbound I-70 was reduced to one lane. The scene is along the shoulder.

Additional reports indicate the pedestrian was struck and then hit by other vehicles before traffic came to a halt.
