The Jackson County Medical examiner’s office has confirmed that a body found late last week is that of a Liberty man.  Authorities said Tuesday that the remains belonged to Chad Rogers, 30.  Rogers was reported missing after he went for a run and didn’t return home on Monday, July 22.  His body was found Friday in a portable toilet on the grounds of a Liberty school.

Police said there did not appear to be any signs of foul play, but a pending autopsy will determine the exact cause of death.

A memorial for Rogers is planned for Friday at the family’s church in Pleasant Valley.  Services will start at 7 p.m. at the Shoal Creek Community Church.

Rogers leaves behind his wife and 1-year-old son.  A trust fund has been set up for donations, which can be made to the Chad Rogers Memorial Fund, care of U.S. Bank, 1909 W. Kansas St., Liberty, MO 64068.
