A Polo child was taken to the hospital Friday morning after colliding with a car.

The Highway Patrol reports Sandy Turner, 63, of Polo was eastbound on School Street in Polo when she entered the intersection with Stoutmore. At that time a child on a bicycle failed to stop at the stop sign forcing Turner to stop. After the first bike cleared the intersection Turner drove forward, that’s when a second bike, ridden by Gavin Norton, 8, ran the stop sign and collided with the side of Turner’s vehicle.

He was transported by family members to Liberty Hospital with minor injuries. Turner was unhurt.
