A KMZU listener in the Brookfield area is reporting receiving a phone call Friday in regards to her recent acquisition of health coverage through the Affordable Care Act.

The recording sounded official according to the listener and claimed to be the insurance provider. It then asked the target individual to say personal information when prompted. The listener reports she hung up immediately then contacted Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield and a representative said the automated call is not from their organization and should be hung up on.

The listener has contacted local authorities to alert police to this potential scam. If you receive a similar call, you should contact local law enforcement immediately after hanging up.
