Pre-trial conference Monday for man accused of May 2016 murder in Odessa

LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Mo. — An Independence man accused of murder is due in a Lafayette County courtroom for a pre-trial conference Monday.

Court documents allege 31-year-old Ryan Beamgard shot two people when he broke into a home in Odessa in May 2016. One person died and another was critically injured during the shooting.

Beamgard was charged in May 2016 with six felony charges, including degree murder, two counts each of first degree assault and burglary in the first degree as well as a felony for stealing a motor vehicle and two felony counts of armed criminal action.

Beamgard will appear before a judge in Lafayette County for a pre-trial conference at 3:00 p.m. Monday. He is currently in custody at the Lafayette County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
