ODESSA, MO – A relatively short aldermen meeting took place Monday evening before a closed session in Odessa’s Dyer Park.

In reports, board members expressed satisfaction in a recent strategic planning meeting concerning the broad future of the city.

An application submitted by the Puddle Jumper Committee was reviewed which requested a beer garden in front of the police station. The effort is in response to a perceived reduction of interest in evening events during Puddle Jumper days. Concerns were brought forth regarding possible complications due to the number of road closures in effect during the event. Aldermen tentatively approved the beer garden with the provision that final details to be worked out are approved by aldermen, police, and fire officials. The vote was 4-2 in favor of the motion.

A lease agreement was approved for the acquisition of a backhoe to be used by city officials.
