It’s the season for pulling. The annual State Fair FFA Alumni Tractor Pull is being held Saturday, August 23rd at La Monte School, behind the ag building and ball fields.

Pullers can start checking in at 2:00 p.m. There will be more than thirty classes and new this year is the Farm Class.

They will be running two sleds this year.

“The lighter tractors will be on the White Mule with Paul Crook,”┬ásaid event spokesman Bob Thompson. “The bigger tractors will be on the Bush Sled with Darryl”.

Each hook is $10 and each tractor is allow three hooks. No winning jackpot will be available put participants are able to create their own jackpot.

The Missouri Brush Pullers rules will apply at this event.

“Participants do not have to be a member of FFA to take part in the pull,” said Bob Thompson. “Children can pull if they sign a waiver”.

Admission is free for the entire family and there will be concessions provided by the LaMonte FFA Chapter. Since this event is being held on school property and is a family-oriented event there will be no alcohol sold or allowed on the grounds.

All money raised from the pullers and concessions will benefit the La Monte FFA Chapter.
