Reardon Murder Trial Begins Monday

An Independence man is scheduled to go on trial in Ray County on Monday morning in connection with the November 2009 death of a Ray County woman.  James Reardon, 26,  is facing charges of 1st murder, armed criminal action, and tampering with a motor vehicle.  According to court documents, Reardon, along with Erik Zimmerman, 31,  and Jennifer Saling, 23, kidnapped and murdered Carol Thomas, 23.  Her body was later found in a field near Lawson.  Reardon’s five day jury trial is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.
