Registered Sex Offender Found with Juvenile

A Crystal Lakes Police Officer arrested a registered sex offender on Thursday afternoon.

The Police Department reports Christopher Faircloth, 28, of Liberty, was found parked in the small town near Excelsior Springs with a juvenile female in his vehicle.  Investigation into the matter yielded evidence as to the nature of the incident.

Faircloth was taken into cuostody and charged with forcible sodomy, statutory sodomy, sexual misconduct involving a child under 15, and child molestation.  More charges are expected.

Faircloth is being held at the Ray County Correctional Facility on bond of $100,000.

On the afternoon of April 24, 2013, a Crystal Lakes Police Officer spotted a suspicious vehicle parked on Mark Drive occupied by two subjects.

Upon initial contact, the officer observed the driver; 28 year old Christopher W. Faircloth of Liberty, Missouri, and the juvenile female occupying the vehicle. Ray County Central Dispatch advised Mr. Faircloth was a registered sex offender from Clay County, Missouri. Further investigation at the scene yielded additional evidence as to the nature of the incident.

Mr. Faircloth was taken into custody and transported to the Ray County Correctional Facility.

The suspect, Christopher W. Faircloth, has been charged with Forcible Sodomy – Deviate Sexual Intercourse by Forcible Compulsion (Unclassified Felony), Statutory Sodomy – 2nd Degree (C Felony), Sexual Misconduct or Attempt Involving a Child under 15 – 1st Offense (D Felony) and Child Molestation – 2nd Degree (A Misdemeanor). Mr. Faircloth’s bond has been set at $100,000.00 cash only with special bond conditions.

The Crystal Lakes Police Department anticipates additional charges may be filed.
