Rep. McGaugh Sponsoring Animal Bill

Under current Missouri Law any livestock producer is subject to animal neglect or abuse charges if their livestock is able to escape enclosure and is harmed. The law does not differentiate between accidents or malicious intent. State Representative for the 39th District Joe Don McGaugh is sponsoring a bill that would give prosecutors the choice of Animal Trespass.

Representative McGaugh adds that, as a former prosecutor, he has dealt with this issue several times.
