Richmond Police Look Into Truck Fire

The Richmond Police Department is asking the public for help with their investigation into the break in and vehicle theft from Memory Gardens over the weekend.

A Richmond officer was dispatched to Highway 10 near Matt Waller Drive Saturday at approximately 5:50 a.m. in reference to a vehicle fire.

Once crews were on scene the blaze was extinguished and investigators determined the work truck was a Richmond city vehicle that is used at Memory Gardens. An officer was dispatched to Memory Gardens where evidence shows the building was broken into and other items besides the vehicle were stolen.

On 06-15-2013 at 5:51 a.m. a Richmond officer was dispatched to Highway 10 near Matt Waller Drive in reference to a vehicle on fire.

Upon arrival the officer discovered the vehicle on fire was a City of Richmond Dump Truck used at Richmond Memory Gardens.  After the fire was extinguished by Richmond Fire officers responded to the maintenance building at Richmond Memory Gardens and discovered the building was broken into by force. Several other items were determined to be missing or damaged.  The scene was processed with items collected for DNA analysis.
