The second annual Richmond Turkey Trot will be held Saturday, November 17th.  Event organizer Mark Harmon says they’ve made a few changes from the 2011 race.

“We’ve added a 10k to it and we’ve also partnered with the Richmond Spartans Touchdown Club.”  Harmon says “all the money raised will go to help the kids.”

Registration gets underway at 6 a.m. with the 10K set to start at 7:30.  The 5K run and 2-mile walk will be begin at 8.  When the fitness challenges are over there will be an awards ceremony,  a biscuit and gravy breakfast, a silent-auction and prizes.

The race will begin at the Richmond Chamber of Commerce.  Registration can be made at the Chamber office or at Anytime Fitness.  For more information contact Mark Harmon at 816-405-3856 or Maria Morrison at 816-868-1063.  Additional information has been posted on the Turkey Trot Facebook page.
