The man involved in a controversial performance at the Missouri State Fair said he has received death threats.  Tuffy Gessling, a clown who provided commentary while another performer wore an Obama mask during an Aug. 10 skit.  Gessling admitted to making comments to the crowd, which included “We’re gonna stomp Obama.” The rodeo act was sharply criticized.  Some called the performance racist and disrespectful to the President.

Gessling said people have threatened to run him over and burn down his home.  He believes people are taking the stunt way too seriously.  Gessling insists he was simply trying to be funny and entertain the crowd.  He said the act wasn’t intended to be any different than previous presidential clown bits.

Gessling received a lifetime ban at the Missouri State Fair for the stunt.
