Rollover crash in Lafayette County seriously injures Texas driver

LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Mo. — A crash in Lafayette County Wednesday evening sent a Texas driver to an area hospital in a critical condition.

The Highway Patrol responded to Route O, south of Watershed Road around 8:25 p.m. in Lafayette County to reports of a rollover wreck involving a single vehicle.

A driver from Fulton, Tx., Jaclyn N. Leonard, 22 had been southbound when her vehicle crossed the center of the road and ran off the left side. The vehicle then hit two signs and a ditch before colliding with an embankment and overturning.

Leonard suffered serious injuries in the accident, despite wearing a seat belt. She was flown by air ambulance to Centerpoint Hospital in Independence to be treated.
