Retail sales directly to consumers at the market started in the 1970′s.  This year the cash register has been ringing for a month, which is quite a bit earlier than usual…

The doors to the consumer market close each Fall when the growing season wraps up.  Though the retail portion takes a backseat to the daily chores there’s still plenty to do..

Peter's Market is located east of Waverly, Mo on Highway 65.

Peter's Market is known for apples and peaches but the market also offers a wide variety of fresh vegetables.

Despite the extreme heat in the region, fruit crops are faring rather well, but it’s a different story in other parts of the country.

One thing of note, if you’re craving fresh peaches and other produce but you waiting till the right time of the season, the right time is now.  A warm winter and spring has markets moving a wide variety of produce earlier than usual.
