The Saline County Circuit Clerk received a “Fair” rating on their most recent audit. The office of Missouri State Auditor Thom Schweich had a number of criticisms for the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit.
One issue was with the duties of court clerks. The audit report claims all nine employees have the ability to assess fees, receipt monies, enter voids, and adjust costs in the system. Audit staff also noted two cases in which costs were not accurate. There was also a complaint that non-monetary transaction are not properly documented or reviewed by supervisors.
