A ceremony was held in Saline County on Wednesday to swear-in the new county commissioner. Charlie Guthrie says he’s looking forward to the next four years.
“I want to continue with the leadership for the county with the present commissioners and work with office holders to make the courthouse accessible,” said Guthrie,” I’ll do my best to serve the needs of the area and to help the people.”
Presiding commissioner Tom Stallings said Guthrie will need some time to get a full handle on the business conducted in the office.
“It certainly takes two years and I’m not quite sure that does it because new things seem to pop up all the time,” said Stallings,” No less than two years and four is probably closer to it.”
Guthrie was elected to replace Norvelle Brown who just finished his last term after serving eight years with the commission.
