CHILLICOTHE, Mo.- Some residents of Chillicothe, Mo., have been reportedly receiving scam related phone calls in reference to donations.

According to a release from Chief Jon Maples of the Chillicothe Police Department, the reports suggest that the scammers are using the police department phone number and requesting the citizen’s address so they can ultimately send the citizen and envelope for the purpose of providing a donation.

The Chillicothe Police Department is not requesting donations and is advising residents that the calls are a scam.
