Sedalia driver suffers serious injuries in early morning wreck in Benton County

BENTON COUNTY, Mo. — A man from Sedalia is in critical condition following a single-vehicle crash in Benton County early Friday morning.

According to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at the intersection of Dillon Road and Schumacher Avenue at approximately 5:00 a.m. Friday.

A car driven by Glen A. Temple, 66, was westbound when it ran off the side of the roadway and collided with a cattle gate.

The vehicle then continued to travel west into a private pasture before hitting a large tree.

Temple was seriously injured in the crash and it was not immediately clear if he was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. He was flown by air ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia to receive care.
