The budget was the focus of the Sedalia City Council meeting Monday night. Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott speak with City Administrator Gary Edwards:
The budget is expected to be approved at the next meeting. Edwards said they started out with a fairly weak budget a few months ago, but managed to make it strong.
There are two primary reasons they were able to make these improvements: a cash infusion and department heads trimming their budgets. Edwards said, although the new budget is strong, it comes with several caveats to monitor. Those mostly depend on outside forces, such as the federal government.
Council is expected to approve the budget at the March 18th meeting.
