Sedalia Woman to Appear in Court on Kidnapping Charges

The case of a Pettis County resident will be heard in court Monday.  According to online court documents, Paula Hopkins, 40, of Sedalia, faces charges of felonious restraint and armed criminal action in an alleged kidnapping incident of a Sedalia woman last November. Her accomplice, 27-year-old Joseph Rankin took a plea bargain in January and is now in the Department of Corrections for 6 years on a charge of felonious restraint. The hearing for Hopkins is set to get underway in a Pettis County Circuit courtroom at 1:30 Monday afternoon.
