Selecting Beef Heifers
Cow-calf producers need to be more selective in their replacement heifer selection for many reasons. K-State cow-calf specialist Bob Weaber (WEB-er) has been discussing several ideas along this line with producers, especially in light of the ongoing drought.

One thing he’s emphasizing is for producers to put more focus on the end use of the heifer’s progeny when making selection decisions.
