A self defense class for women is being held in Chillicothe later this month. Click to hear KMZU’s Kristie Cross talk to Power Up executive director Sarah Fuehring:
“We teach them basic skills on how to protect themselves,” said Fuehring,” We’ll discuss safety and awareness tips. They may already know some of these, but just need a reminder, We will talk about how to present themselves when they’re out and about and how to stay aware of their surroundings. We then address actual physical skills. They will learn how to hit, kick, and how to use their bodies to protect themselves.”
The class will be held Friday, October 19th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 20th from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Those planning to participate should email firstname.lastname@example.org, or contact Fuehring at (816) 716-1858 or Sheriff Steve Cox at (660) 646-0515. Registration is $25 and must be complete by October 10th.
