Semi rear-ends three vehicles involved in successive collisions

ADAIR COUNTY, MO – A multi-vehicle crash led to injuries for two drivers Monday afternoon in Adair County.

Missouri Highway Patrol says the crash happened 5 miles north of Kirksville on 63 Highway. According to a crash report, three vehicles were stopped in the northbound lane due to traffic. A northbound semi truck, driven by Joseph Moriarty, 32, could not stop in time, and struck the rearmost vehicle causing a chain reaction. Two drivers received minor injuries. Ruth Brown, 82, of Lancaster, sought medical treatment, and Abbey Wheeler, 23, of Downing, was taken to an area hospital.
