Pearce serves on the Senate Education Committee. “According to current state statute, then they have the ability to go to a surrounding district or an adjoining county to go to school. That’s happened twice, with two districts in the St. Louis area,” said Pearce. “So we heard a bill, rather we heard five bills on that topic in our Senate Education Committee on Wednesday. And we’ll hear more in the future. It’s a tough, tough issue. So that’s probably, when it comes to education, our biggest issue this session.”

The Senate Education Committee next meets Wednesday afternoon at 3:00.
