Seperate Assault Charges, Same Courtroom

Ray County Judge James Thompson will hear two cases against a Lawson resident this (Tue) afternoon. Justin Morris, 30, was charged in mid-December with domestic assault, tampering with a motor vehicle, and resisting arrest.  An additional charge of assault on a law enforcement officer was filed about two weeks later.  Both charges stem from a December 10th incident.  The case for domestic assault, tampering and resisting arrest will be a preliminary hearing and the assault on law enforcement will be a pre-emptory docket setting. Both are set for 2:30 p.m.
