Shooting Suspect Pleads Not Guilty

A Dawn resident entered a plea of not guilty during his arraignment Tuesday morning.  David Hughes, 36, is charged with assault, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon.  He is accused of opening fire on Paul Estes and Brandi Thompson at a home in Dawn.  Hughes was wounded after Estes returned fire.  His plea/trial setting has been scheduled for December 11th at 9:00 a.m.
