Shooting Suspect will Appear in Ray Co. Court

A Richmond resident charged in connection to a shooting in mid-October is scheduled to appear in a Ray County courtroom Wednesday morning. 21-year-old Zarek Cook is charged discharging a firearm from a motor vehicle, armed criminal action, assault, resisting arrest and possession of Marijuana. According to the probable cause statement Cook and another defendant were allegedly involved in a shooting on October 14 where the two chased and shot at a car near Richmond.  They are then reported to have returned to 19-year-old Christopher Graham’s home, and Cook allegedly attempted to hide while Graham allegedly hid the Winchester 20 gauge shotgun when law enforcement authorities showed up. Cook will appear at 8:30 a.m. today. Graham is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on January 15.
