Discussion at Tuesday night’s meeting of the Slater city council focused on upcoming maintenance projects. Click to hear KMZU’s Kristie Cross talk with Assistant City Administrator Russell Griffith:
According to Griffith, street repairs will be somewhat limited this year. “With the Southeast Storm Sewer Project, where we asphalted the whole the area, we spent most of our street money. There are some streets that really need some maintenance so we will get them taken care of and hit it hard next year,” Griffith said.
Areas scheduled for chip and seal projects include Jenkins and Short Streets, as well as portions of Elm, Montgomery, and Morgan Streets. City crews will also start a comprehensive tree trimming project around power lines and street intersections this month. Griffith said residents need to take action now if they prefer to trim their trees themselves. The project is slated to begin the last week of October.
