Slater Receives Grant for Fire Equipment

It was announced the Slater City Council received a grant to purchase important fire department equipment at their regular meeting Tuesday night.

Dr. Allegri says they worked closely with the city of Marshall to help get this grant passed through. It’s $10,000 for an infrared camera. Allegri says this will help the fire department find hot spots and those that may be trapped in smoke filled burning homes.

Council also finalized a motel annexation and heard updates on an upcoming tractor pull and events taking place at the city pool.
