A KMZU listener reports a smoky haze over Highway 36 at Brookfield Saturday.

Linn County Fire Chief Larry Flynn says the cause rolled into the area Friday night. “It was a semi-load of hay about 10 o’clock. Right at 36 and Business 36, the west entrance of Brookfield,” Chief Flynn said.

“I guess the hay may have been green. We’ve got hay on the ground, we got it spread out. We’ve been back a couple of times today, just trying to put some more of it out.” Chief Flynn adds.

There were no injuries reported and the highway is open to normal traffic.
