An organized effort on the part of local bar owner’s, here in Sedalia, has seemingly been instrumental in getting the council to revisit the issue, though not entirely unified.  Jennifer Edwards recently purchased End Zones Sports Bar and Grill and she tells KMZU NEWS that the no smoking ordinance has helped her business in the short time that’s she’s owned it.

Part of what the council is considering relates to serving prepared meals, as is the case with Edward’s restaurant.  But, Charles Wansing, owner of Chez When Cocktail says his business is a little different.

Wansing’s main dispute with the ordinance is that the no smoking ban does not apply to private clubs and fraternities within the city limits and he says he’s pushed to make it a level playing field everyone involved…  The Sedalia Council’s expected to take up the issue again sometime in March.
