The commission received a report from their superintendent of roads on Monday.  “It’s been estimated that the cost of our snow removal will be in the $48, 000 to $50,000 range, “said Fenner, “This includes fuel and extra man hours that were needed to get the roads cleared.”

While the county did not have snow removal dollars in the budget, they hope to have enough in their reserve funds so that rock and other road maintenance will not be impacted.

Looking ahead into the busy construction season, the commission has a total of five projects in various stages of the planning process.  “We have two bridges we’re going to replace beginning this spring,  “said Fenner, “We also have three bridges on the BRO program.  Two of those we hope to start this fall and the other is slated for 2015.”
