Senior Night for Knob Noster proved victorious as the Panthers beat the Lexington Minutemen 70-34.  Brett Marsh led Knob Noster with 19 points.  Ryan Keckler tacked on 18 and Aaron Hale contributed 16 points.  Lexington was led by Jevon Williams who had 20.  Knob Noster will take on Summit Christian in Higginsville Tuesday night in District play.

Norborne fell to Newtown Harris in a close one Thursday night 86-82.

The Hamilton girls beat Trenton by 10.  The final score 49-39.

The Norborne girls defeated Newtown Harris 55-22.

KMZU’s Mike Stone will travel to Higginsville tonight as the Lafayette County C-1 Huskers take on the Holden Eagles.  That game is being broadcast on our sister station – 103.9 FM the Grenade.  Pre-game action starts at about 6:15 p.m.  Then right here on KMZU, Chris Clift and the crew will talk to area coaches about this week’s games and upcoming district play on the Fifth Quarter Show.

SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP) — Elliott Johnson brought four gloves with him yesterday as Kansas City Royals players reported to spring training camp. Johnson spent 11 years in the Tampa Bay organization before being acquired in a trade on Tuesday. He started 68 games at shortstop and has played every infield position except catcher in his career.

JUPITER, Fla. (AP) – The St. Louis Cardinals have agreed to a three-year contract extension with general manager John Mozeliak and exercised the 2014 option for manager Mike Matheny. Mozeliak will now be with the team through 2016, and Matheny is guaranteed through next year. Chairman William DeWitt praised both managers, saying Matheny did a “remarkable” job in his first season.

ST. LOUIS (AP) — The St. Louis Rams have scheduled a news conference today to discuss coaching staff changes. Published reports have said coach Jeff Fisher has chosen Detroit’s secondary coach, Tim Walton, as the Rams new defensive coordinator. The team went without a coordinator last season after Gregg Williams was suspended for his role in the Saints’ bounty scandal.
