KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Issiah Grayson scored 23 points and Cal State Bakersfield built a substantial second half lead before hanging on to beat Missouri-Kansas City 74-69 on Thursday night. Martez Harrison scored 20 in the Kangaroo effort as UMKC (7-18, 4-8) suffered its seventh-consecutive loss.

 

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) — Tyler Stone scored 28 points and nabbed 9 rebounds and Southeast Missouri State pulled away from Jacksonville State in the second half, notching an 87-70 win on Thursday night. Southeast Missouri State (14-13, 5-8 Ohio Valley Conference) shot 56 percent from the field while Nino Johnson assisted in the victory with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

 

(Tuscaloosa, AL)  —  Missouri will try to extend its winning streak to four games tomorrow night at Alabama.  The Tigers have beaten Arkansas, Tennessee and Vanderbilt since a three-game losing streak to improve to 19-and-7.  The Crimson Tide are 10-and-16.  Mizzou beat ‘Bama 68-47 at home last month.

 

LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) — Kansas coach Charlie Weis has hired former Washington offensive coordinator Eric Kiesau to work with wide receivers, a position that was mostly unproductive last season.. Kiesau spent the past two seasons with the Huskies, helping them to a 9-4 record in 2013. He’s also been an assistant at Colorado and California, tutoring Chicago Bears wide receiver Keenan Allen and Philadelphia Eagles star Desean Jackson.
