LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) — Kansas basketball coach Bill Self is accepting an apology from Iowa State students after this week’s overtime victory. The sixth-ranked Jayhawks rallied in the closing minutes to force overtime before rolling to a 108-to-96 victory. That prompted an Iowa State fan to try to charge Self after a brief postgame interview and sparked racist and threatening comments on Twitter about Elijah Johnson, who scored 39 points.

ST. LOUIS (AP) – Jonathan Toews (tayvz) scored twice as the Chicago Blackhawks shut out the St. Louis Blues 3-to-0 last night. Andrew Shaw also scored for Chicago, which extended their NHL-record season-opening points streak to 20 games.
