High School Football

The Hardin Central Bulldogs are set to take on Southwest Ludlow tonight in Class 1 8-man football tournament. That game will be broadcast live on sister station 103.9 KRLI; pre-game will be approximately 6:45. You can also listen online at 1039thegrenade.com. Hardin-Central is 8-3 on the season, Southwest Ludlow hosts the Bulldogs at 9-2.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Todd Haley isn’t looking for revenge against the Chiefs. The current Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator says he’s trying to treat Monday’s game against his former employer like just another game. Haley was fired by the Chiefs with three weeks left in the 2011 season.

ST. LOUIS (AP) — The St. Louis Rams have dropped three straight games heading into Sunday’s matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. The Rams also yielded 30 points against Green Bay and 45 against New England in their last two losses before the bye week. Assistant coach Dave McGinnis says everyone on the team knows the recent losses are “totally unacceptable.”

INDIAN WELLS, Calif. (AP) — The Toronto Blue Jays have purchased right-hander Jeremy Jeffress from the Kansas City Royals. Jeffress was 0-0 with a 6.75 ERA in 13 relief appearances this past season. The Royals also traded pitcher Tommy Hottovy to the Texas Rangers for a player to be named or cash.
