In Class 4 Missouri State High School Baseball, Westminster Christian Academy defeated Logan-Rogersville 4-1 and Oak Grove defeated Boonville 4-3 on Saturday.  Logan-Rogersville was a winner over Boonville 8-7 to win 3rd Place in the state in Class 4 on Sunday.  Westminster Christian Academy won the Class 4 Championship by squeaking by Oak Grove 2-1.

Jurickson Profar hit a tiebreaking homer in the eighth inning Sunday to lift the Texas Rangers to a 3-1 win over the Kansas City Royals. Rangers starter Yu Darvish pitched seven shutout innings and Joe Nathan earned his 17th save. Alex Gordon scored Kansas City’s only run on a fielder’s choice in the eighth inning.

Chad Gaudin (go-DAN) won in his first start in more than three years Sunday in the San Francisco Giants’ 4-2 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals. Gaudin allowed two runs in six innings in his first start since September 2009 as a member of the New York Yankees. David Freese hit a two-run home run for the Cardinals.

Kansas State won its first NCAA regional title in school history Sunday night with a 4-3 win over Arkansas. Razorbacks pitcher Jalen Beeks threw two wild pitches in the seventh inning, allowing the Wildcats to score two runs. Gerardo Esquivel earned the victory for K-State.
