GOODYEAR, Ariz. (AP) — Alex Gordon homered yesterday as the Kansas City Royals beat the Cincinnati Reds 8-1. Mike Moustakas hit two doubles to raise his spring average to .579 as the Royals stayed undefeated in 10 games. Reds pitcher Homer Bailey struck out five in two innings.

VIERA, Fla. (AP) — Chad Tracy hit a two-run homer and a double yesterday as the Washington Nationals topped the St. Louis Cardinals 7-6 in spring training. Ryan Zimmerman had an RBI single in his first spring game following shoulder surgery. Pete Kozma had three hits for the Cardinals.

VIERA, Fla. (AP) — St. Louis Cardinals shortstop Rafael Furcal has been told to stop baseball activities. Trying to come back from a torn ligament in his elbow, the 35-year-old Furcal was told he must have additional medical tests. Pete Kozma and Ronny Cedeno are the likely candidates to take over for Furcal.
