DETROIT (AP) — The San Francisco Giants are celebrating their second World Series title in three years after finishing a four-game sweep of Detroit with a 4-3 win in 10 innings last night. Marco Scutaro delivered the big hit, an RBI single with two out in the 10th.




DETROIT (AP) — Pablo Sandoval, who slugged three home runs in Game 1, was named World Series MVP. Sandoval batted .500 for the series, and drove in four runs.




KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Carson Palmer threw for 209 yards and two touchdowns yesterday in the Oakland Raiders’ 26-16 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Darren McFadden rushed for 114 yards and Sebastian Janikowski was 4-for-4 on field goal attempts for the Raiders. The Chiefs have lost four straight games.




KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Brady Quinn exited yesterday’s game against Oakland after suffering what the team called a “head injury.” Former starter Matt Cassel replaced Quinn on the next series. Cassel sustained a concussion three weeks ago against Baltimore.




LONDON (AP) — Tom Brady threw four touchdown passes yesterday as the New England Patriots routed the St. Louis Rams 45-7 in London. Brandon Lloyd and Rob Gronkowski each hauled in two scoring passes. Sam Bradford hit Chris Givens for a 50-yard TD on the Rams’ first drive of the game.
