High School Basketball
At the American Family Insurance Holiday Classic at William Jewell College Saturday The St. Joseph Central Indians earned fifth place honors with their 60-47 win over Kansas City Central.
The Hogan Prep Rams won fifth place in the Cardinal Division by defeating the Lincoln Prep Tigers 55-50.
The Harrisonville Wildcats won fifth place with a 61-47 win over Kearney.
Fort Osage Indians defeated the Pleasant Hill Roosters 47-40 for third place in the Nelson Division.
The Blue Springs Wildcats earned third place in the Cardinal Division with a 62-52 win over the Smithville Warriors.
The Truman Patriots edged St. Pius X 53-50 to earn third place honors in the Patterson Division.
The Lee’s Summit West Titans were crowned champions of the Nelson Division as they defeated Blue Springs South 66-57.
The Liberty North Eagles defeated the Park Hill South Panthers 44-36 to become champions of the Cardinal Division.
The Rockhurst Hawklets defeated the Liberty Blue Jays 56-49 to become champions of the Patterson Division.

College Basketball:
(Los Angeles, CA) – Shabazz Muhammad scored 27 points as UCLA pulled off a 97-94 overtime upset of ninth-ranked Missouri. Travis Wear added 22 points with nine rebounds while David Wear scored 16 points off the bench for the Bruins. Jordan Adams added 12 points with five assists for UCLA, which moved to 10-and-3. Phil Pressey had 19 points and 19 assists for the Tigers, who outrebounded the Bruins 42-32. Pressey had 19 of the 21 team assists. Laurence Bowers had 17 points with nine boards and Keion Bell added 17 points and six rebounds. Earnest Ross netted 16 points to go with seven caroms as Mizzou fell to 10-and-2.
