Garza allowed a season-high 10 hits in six and two thirds innings, but held the NL’s highest scoring offense to two runs at Wrigley Field.
CLEVELAND (AP) — Lonnie Chisenhall hit his first career grand slam, Scott Kazmir pitched into the seventh inning and the Cleveland Indians beat the visiting Kansas City Royals 5-3 last night. Chisenhall’s homer in the sixth broke open a 1-0 game and hit off the facing of the second deck in right field, landing in Kansas City’s bullpen.
SAN DIEGO (AP) — San Francisco’s Tim Lincecum (LINZ’-ih-kuhm) has authored the second no-hitter of the Major League Baseball season. Lincecum struck out 13 and threw 148 pitches in the Giants’ 9-0 win over the San Diego Padres to join Cincinnati’s Homer Bailey in the 2013 no-hit club.

NEWTON, Iowa (AP) — Timothy Peters claimed the lead after a restart on lap 195 to win the NASCAR Trucks Series race at Iowa Speedway Saturday night. The win was Peters’ first of the 2013 Trucks season and the sixth of his career. He also became first Trucks driver to win twice at the Newton, Iowa track, edging out 17-year-old Erik Jones by .225 seconds.
