LOS ANGELES (AP) — Malcolm Armstead scored 14 points, Fred Van Vleet bounced in a big basket with 1 minute left, and ninth-seeded Wichita State earned its first trip to the Final Four since 1965 with a 70-66 victory over Ohio State yesterday. Van Vleet scored 12 points as the Shockers followed up last week’s win over top-ranked Gonzaga with a nail-biting victory over the second-seeded Buckeyes in Los Angeles.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Alex Hall scored a season-high 35 points, making seven 3-pointers to help Drury topple defending champion Western Washington 107-97 yesterday in the NCAA Division Two semifinal. The Panthers’ top scorer shook off foul trouble to finish 10 of 15 from the field and set the pace for Drury’s nearly 58 percent shooting in Louisville, Kentucky. Teddy Simniok added 12 points for the Springfield, Missouri school, which faces Metro State in the championship on April 7th in Atlanta.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) — Claudio Bieler scored his third goal of the season, and Sporting Kansas City shut out previously unbeaten Montreal 2-0 last night in a match that saw the ejection of Impact coach Marco Schaellibaum. Montreal’s coach was sent off in the 81st minute, shortly after Graham Zusi’s goal put Sporting up 2-nil at home.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — The Buffalo Sabres have traded ten-year veteran defenseman Jordan Leopold to the St. Louis Blues for two draft picks. The Sabres received a second-round pick and a conditional fifth-round pick in this year’s draft.
